Lawnside Driveways, Walks and Steps Poured by a Family Crew

Yes, we do concrete work all over Lawnside. The borough touches Cherry Hill, where our office is, so estimates are fast.

Most Lawnside homes are single-family houses, and nearly half were built between 1940 and 1969, so many driveways and front steps are 55 years or older.

Lawnside is one of the Camden County boroughs our crew works in every season. If you live nearby, you can find your town on our list of concrete service areas in South Jersey. We treat every town on that list the same way, with a site visit and a written estimate.

The estimate is free, with a clear number on paper before we break out a slab.

About The Neighborhood

About Lawnside and the Homes We Work On

Lawnside is a small borough of 1.43 square miles with 2,955 residents in the 2020 Census. It began as Free Haven in 1840, a stop on the Underground Railroad, later Snow Hill, then Lawnton, then Lawnside in 1907.

The borough was incorporated on April 20, 1926 and is known as the first independent, self-governing Black municipality north of the Mason-Dixon line.

The Peter Mott House on Kings Court dates to the 1840s. Mott was a freed farmer and Underground Railroad conductor, and his home is now a museum.

Housing here grew in waves, most between 1940 and 1979, with about 200 more built from 2000 to 2009. Each era brings different concrete needs.

Services

Concrete Services for Lawnside Homes

Most calls we get from Lawnside involve replacing concrete that has simply worn out. Here is the work homeowners ask us for most.

Replacing Mid-Century Driveways

A driveway poured in the 1950s or 1960s often has deep cracks and low spots. We remove it, rebuild the base, and pour new concrete that sheds water toward the street.

Driveway Aprons and Curb Areas

The apron takes the hardest hits from cars turning in. We cut out broken aprons cleanly and pour a new section that meets the street and driveway evenly.

Front Sidewalks and Lawn Walks

Older walks crack as the ground shifts through winter. We pour new sections with control joints that guide cracks instead of across the walk.

Concrete Steps and Stoops

Settled or crumbling steps are common on homes from the 1940s and 1950s. We form new steps with even risers so the front entry is safer.

Sealing Newer Slabs

Homes built in the 2000s often still have sound concrete. Sealing it helps protect the surface from water and salt before bigger problems start.

Why Papaneri & Sons

Why Lawnside Homeowners Choose Papaneri & Sons

We have been family owned since 1987. Mario Sr, Mario Jr and Nick are on the jobs, and Denise keeps the office running.

Close Neighbors, Not a Long Drive

Lawnside borders Cherry Hill, so our crew and trucks are minutes away, keeping your pour on schedule.

Experience With Decades-Old Concrete

Tearing out 60-year-old slabs is everyday work for us. We fix the base underneath, where most old driveway problems start.

Permits Handled Through Borough Hall

Denise pulls permits with the Lawnside Construction Department and sets up inspections, so you do not have to visit Borough Hall.

4500 PSI Concrete on Every Home

We pour a 4500 PSI mix as our standard on residential jobs. It gives driveways and steps more strength against South Jersey freeze and thaw.

Built to ACI Standards

We are members of the American Concrete Institute and follow its standards for joints and finishing. Our Google rating is 4.7 stars from 140+ reviews.

Local Landmarks

Serving Homes Near Warwick Road and the White Horse Pike

Our crew works streets across the borough, from Lawnside Public School to Borough Hall on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Road.

The White Horse Pike is a main route through the area, so we time concrete truck arrivals to avoid its busiest hours.

I-295 and the New Jersey Turnpike both cross Lawnside, but the Turnpike has no exit in town, so we plan truck routes accordingly.

On streets like Kings Court, home of the Peter Mott House, we keep the work area neat while concrete cures.

Often, yes. Many of our driveway replacements are torn out and poured in a single day, depending on size and base condition.

Do I need a permit for concrete work in Lawnside?

Many concrete projects do need one, and Denise files with the Lawnside Construction Department and schedules inspections.

My Lawnside home is from the 1950s. Should I repair or replace the front steps?

It depends on what is under the surface. Small cracks can be repaired, but sunken or crumbled steps need full replacement.
